My philosophy on writing is best summed up in this quote by Don Draper, one of the most brilliant television characters of all time:
“Make it simple, but significant.”
I firmly believe in the written word being one of our most powerful tools for not only expressing the vibrance and complexity of the human spirit, but also enacting positive change in the lives of others. Writing can and should be sincere, whether its intention is to be poignant, comforting, informative, or even humorous. My aim as both a writer and editor is to create content that has a significant impact, utilizing promotional materials, social media campaigns, blog posts, or fiction and poetry as the vehicles.
My greatest literary influences are David Sedaris, Cormac McCarthy, Stephen King, Toni Morrison, and Jane Yolen.
